A Leftist, sometimes also referred to as Online Left or Terminally Online Left, is a person who is diagnosed with Destiny Derangement Syndrome (or DDS).
Leftists can be identified in the wild by their mating call, which is usually either or a tweet or a subreddit post talking about how Destiny is a rape apologist or a fascist. They can also be identified by their insignia in their Twitter name or bio, usually consisting of several flags pertaining to social causes they wish to LARP over and UNICODE characters that indicate their affiliation with movements, political and/or ideological trends, and in what way they will overthrow their respective governments in their own personal anime universe that their heroic character is the savior of.
History
Leftists have a long established history of forming semi-organized armies, normally built up around a leftist general (see #Notable Leftists), with the sole purpose of trying to overthrow Destiny and DGG, yet none of these ragtag armies have ever succeeded in this goal. A common failure tactic is for an army and its leader to retreat to a fortress and permanently barricade all points of ingress and egress.
